JHN 029 - Slide Scanner

There is a Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED installed in JHN 029 that can be accessed from computer #5. The slide scanner is able to scan 35mm slides using the MA-21 adapter (single slide) or SA-21 adapter (2-6 slides).

Scanning - Nikon Scan

  1. Insert the scanner attachment that is correct for your slide. If you need to swap scanner attachments first ensure there is no media inserted then gently pull the current attachment forward until it is clear of the scanner. Then you can gently slide in the other attachment until it clicks.
  2. Insert your slide until you hear a small click
  3. Open up the Nikon Scan software
  4. Click Preview to view the current slide and make sure everything looks correct; you may adjust settings to your needs
  5. Click Scan
  6. Click File → Save to save the image
